The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) took effect in the UK on 25.05.18.  It has replaced the existing law on data protection (the DPA 1998) and gives individuals more rights and protection regarding how their personal data is used by Councils.  Local Councils and Parish meetings must comply with its requirements, just like any other organisation.

To ensure the Community Council is complying with the new regulations, the following policies have been adopted;

As an individual, you have a right to access your data; you can make a subject access request verbally or in writing.  The Council will respond to your request within 1 month.  There is no fee for submitting a subject access request.
